Reservations from November 3, 2018 for the lodges in Thimphu, Punakha and Paro Valleys are now being accepted, while the lodges in Gangtey and Bumthang are targeting openings by March 2019.
A brief introduction to the Kingdom where you discover two significant districts. Thimphu, the main capital provides an introduction of the Kingdom's cultural heritage, and Paro, where the international airport and iconic Taktsang Goemba (or Tiger's Nest Monastery) is located.
Punakha is the country's winter destination due to its lower altitude and warm climate. The valley houses Punakha Dzong, known as Palace of Great Happiness, located at the confluence of Pho Chhu (river) and Mo Chhu.
Extend your trip to Phobjikha Valley, where Gangtey Village is set and is the winter home of the graceful black-necked cranes. The valley is also rich to several faunal biodiversity, of which 13 are globally classified as threatened species.
Journey further into the Kingdom by driving to Bumthang, where you can find a number of ancient temples and sacred sites. The majority of the valley part is of Bhutan's extensive protected areas network.
