New Culinary Height

Join us in welcoming our new executive chef, Christian Martena, to Six Senses Samui. Christian is an expert in well-balanced and nutritional cuisine, in which is the basis of “Eat With Six Senses” throughout all culinary outlets of the resort.

An Italian native, Christian Martena, started his culinary adventure since 2000 as a commis chef at his family-run restaurant, Amade, in Bolzano, Italy. It took him only three years before getting his first break at the Michelin-starred restaurant, Diana in Bologna. From there then, he has run Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe and high-end eateries in Bangkok, namely Opus and Sensi.

Not only is Christian passionate about creating great food, he also has a passion for creating dining experiences that delight the imagination from start to finish. He is an expert in well-balanced and nutritional cuisine, in which is the basis of “Eat With Six Senses” throughout all culinary outlets of the resort.

For Christian, cooking is an art, which needs continuous inspiration in order to create something new each day. During his free time, he loves playing music for his daughter, Lea, and he is fluent in Italian, English, French and Spanish.
